Dear Sir, I am trying to trace the family of Catherine Williams b. c1811 Landilo. She married Walter Thomas (my husband’s great, great grandfather) on 27.8.1833 in the Parish Church of Llandilofawr. The marriage banns were read out on 11th, 18th and 25th August 1883, and stated that both were `of this Parish’. Witnesses were a David Thomas and John Harris. Catherine and Walter signed the register with a X. In the 1841 Census Walter’s occupation is given as `Labourer’. I have only just discovered this family link, and have no clues at all about Catherine or her family or background. I am still trying to locate where Walter was born, LLanwrda looked hopeful, but no result yet. Any help would wonderful, it has taken ages to get this far, no census forms to help anymore.
