First Impressions employment project.

The First Impressions project is an exciting project which operates throughout the county of Carmarthenshire and aims to increase the employment prospects of NEET, economically inactive or long term unemployed individuals who are 16+ years old living in the area.

There are two main elements to the project; firstly employability training and secondly paid work placements.  The employability training can include: –

·         First Aid Level 3 training

·         Employability training

·         Food Hygiene level 2 certificate

·         Various sector specific certificates

This training can be delivered either in person or electronically and adapted to the individual needs of each participant.

Progression onto a paid work placement Is dependent on successful completion of employability training, commitment and attitude towards the programme and it’s staff.  These paid work placements will be tailored to the individuals career goals and are for a fixed period of 16 weeks which will be paid at minimum wage for a maximum 16hrs per week.

As a project we understand that the Covid-19 virus has had a major impact throughout the county and country as a whole.  As a result, we are particular keen to help those who are 25+ years old and find themselves struggling to secure employment due to the increase in job seekers and limited vacancies in the labour market.
