Restoration of St Michael’s Church Lychgate and outer walls

In view of public health and safety concerns it has been necessary to completely board the sides and roof of the Lychgate in plywood and it requires an approved specialist contractor to restore it appropriately to meet its original Grade 1 status.

A financial grant application to-match fund monies already held by St. Michael’s Church has been submitted to Carmarthenshire Welsh Church Fund in order to fund this specialist restoration work.

St Michael’s Church is located at a central point in the village of Cilycwm and with the only entrance via the Lychgate, its’ appearance currently detracts from the visual impact of the beauty of the Grade 1 listed Church.

As residents of Cilycwm and the surrounding district, we have indicated below our wish to confirm our support for this grant application to restore the Lychgate to its original structure.

Many thanks in anticipation of your support.
