A drover in Talog; a smithy in Penybanc; a mason in Tai’rheol; a miner in Pentrepoeth; a clockmaker in Abercamlais and Tanlife; a hosier in Blaenwaun; a sadler in Waungroeddir; a shepherd in Crippau Cochion; a cooper in Tanycoed (Cwm Rhaeadr); a tailor in Aberhosan; a weaver in Rhydymaen; an Inn in the Lamb; a sawyer in Croesyfedwen; a shoemaker in the village; a turner in Cwm Rhaeadr; a wheelwright in Ffordd Fawr; a spinner in Llwynhelyg.

Between 1831 and 1840 (over a 10 year period in the baptisms), the most popular girls names – Mary (37 times); Elizabeth (28 times) and Anne (24 times).
