Timber Harvesting in Merchon, Gwenlais and Neuadd woods

Over the next few months a local company, Cothi Harvesting Ltd, will be harvesting timber in the Natural Resources Wales woods to the north of Cilycwm via Penstacan lane.  As a gesture of goodwill, Alun Williams, on behalf of Cothi Harvesting Ltd, has made a donation of £1,000 to the local charity, Menter Cilycwm, towards the Capel y Groes Community Hall project.  Whist the harvesting and transport of timber through Cilycwm will increase traffic through the village, both the contractors and transporters – Steve Pope Transport Ltd – wish to minimise the disruption to villagers lives.   Their kind donation is an indication of their wish to work sympathetically within the community, and Steve Pope has indicated his wish to also contribute in the future.
