Festival moves back to Cwmtwrch

The Festival of The Celts, an outdoor sustainable living and music event to be held on green field farmland in the Llandovery valley, this coming week, has now changed venue, returning to the Green Valley in Upper Cwmtwrch, due to essential fixtures at the venue not being in place together with the wet weather forecast over the build-up of the event.

This event is a total outdoor green experience run 100% from solar power, including 2 music stages, many workshops, including speed carving with chain saws, charcoal making, tipi and yurt building and many children activities, but it is feared the many heavy vehicles, cars and caravans would leave the farmland in disrepair.

The organiser of the festival. Mr. Stephens and farm land owner, Mr. Davies, had agreed at the outset that wet weather conditions would be detrimental to the farm land and caravan site, so an early cancellation clause was in place.

The festival has been held in Cwmtwrch over the past 4 years and will return to its site with all infrastructure already in place, albeit a considerably smaller site.

The festival organiser, Mr. Stephens said, “A decision had to be made very early, before the any vehicles pulled onto the field and on early Sunday reviewed the situation. With consideration to the big top marquees, catering units, craft stalls, display and workshop teams preparing to come long distances, we felt obliged to let everyone know as early as possible. By doing this the farmers land will remain in good condition and available for continuous use for the caravan club and animal grazing.”

“Our advanced ticket sales are as expected, mainly weekend camping and of course we know much of the local interested in the Amman and Twyi valley’s would be coming on the day, so the event moving to our Green Valley site in Cwmtwrch is still easily accessible and will now be priced at a huge discount at 50% reduced fee, obviously with limited activities.

All refunds will be done where tickets were purchased “

If you bought tickets online via the website, you will be contacted directly.
